A few observations of mine about the SMC R: Sounds like a KTM. I always thought the sound was unique to the 1290 75* angle, but nope. Sounds like a KTM from the seat. Can't wait to put a slip on to save weight and braaap around. The brakes are phenomenal.
As a happy owner of 701 enduro 2020 doing my first 1000km and recently was comparing it with ktm here are the differences I knew from dealer and noticed: KTM 690 enduro 2020: +700euro, usb charger (!), more onroad tires with "rainy" picture. Nicer saddle, mirrors, rear redlight, nicer plastic with carbonish pieces, blacked handelbar.
UPDATE [17.3.2015] After installing the RR racks and Perun moto rear rack the carrying capacity is greatly improved. I can now mount 4 FuelFriend cans very conveniently. 2 at each side on the RR racks and 2 on the rear rack. The extension plate comes in handy if you want to mount two on the rear rack.
Yes, the bike still weighs over 400 pounds—KTM claims no curb weight—but the same principles of dune riding on a 450cc enduro bike apply to the KTM 790 Adventure R. In the world of adventure
This can also happen on the highway or when down shifting into a stop sign except the RPMs will drop to 0 and the bike will stall. Other times when accelerating the bike will start chugging dramatically as if it is losing power or running out of gas. Stalling is certainly the most common of these symptoms.
The Husky 701 was at the top of my list, until this awesome deal came up on a 17 690 Enduro. Saves me $3k off the cost of the Husky, and it's only got 340 miles on it. 1. oider_hund. • 6 yr. ago. Yeah it's a pity that they don't update the DRZ. But sounds like you got yourself a great deal on the 690 Enduro!
The 2024 KTM XC-W 2-stroke range will once again consist of the following model lineup: KTM 150 XC-W. KTM 250 XC-W. KTM 300 XC-W. The 4-stroke offering includes three distinct model ranges for
TESTED | 2019 KTM 690 ENDURO R. KTM hits the 690 Enduro R with a heap of updates designed to expand its range and its fanbase. The KTM 690 Enduro R is a curious bike. In a lot of ways it defies easy categorization and I suspect that’s because it’s not a simple fit for the Australian market. On one hand we have a country that adores the big
To the OP, I'm surprised you never said anything about the seat; instead you chose to comment on the tank and no saddle bags. I could think of million of other bikes that would tour 100x better than the 690/701.. all of which have MUCH more comfortable saddles, a proper windshield, more fuel capacity, probably a fuel gauge, better instrumentation, probably better engine harmonics, etc
